(Winston-Salem, NC) -- On June 23, Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to an Armed Robbery at 1713 Lomond Street.
When they arrived, resident Silas Yount told them that the suspect came to his residence and reached into his book bag and pulled out a hand gun and demanded money. Yount stated that he gave the suspect some money and he left the residence.
On 07-10-2012, detectives with the Winston-Salem Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division were at 1713 Lomond Street conducting further investigation into the robbery.
While at this location, detectives located items that lead them to believe that marijuana and firearms were at this location. Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at this location. During the search two firearms, a quantity of marijuana (less than a half ounce) and drug paraphernalia was located and seized.
Silas Daniel Yount (W-M 12-16-1983) was arrested at the scene without incident. He was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Marijuana, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Silas Daniel Yount was also charged with Filing a False Police Report in relation to the reported Armed Robbery.
Mr. Yount was placed in the Forsyth County Jail under a $36,500 Secured Bond.
