JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- A North Carolina elementary school teacher has been charged with giving alcohol to minors.
The Daily News of Jacksonville reports that 52-year-old Diane Mennig has been charged with providing high school-aged youths alcohol between November and January at her home in Jacksonville.
Police charged Mennig with three counts each of giving malt beverages to people under 21, giving liquor to people under 21 and overage aiding and abetting an underage person possessing and consuming alcoholic beverages.
Mennig teaches fifth grade at Morton Elementary. She has been at the school for seven years and has been a teacher for 25 years.
