Thomasville, NC-- Police in Thomasville are investigating an accident involving a child on a bicycle.

According to the police report, the collision happened Wednesday around 8:30 pm in the 1300 block of Unity Street.

Police said Sylvia Brown was driving her 2000 Ford Escort northbound on Unity Street when she hit a 10 year-old boy a bicycle.

Police said the boy was riding alongside another boy who had crossed the street and made it safely on the otherside. The 10 year-old was hit when he tried to cross the road to join the other kid. 

The juvenile was taken to High Point Regional and later transferred to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem with leg injuries. 

Neither child was not wearing a helmet, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing, but no charges are expected to be filed.
