Denver, CO -- James Holmes, the suspect in Friday's mass theater shooting, has been appointed a defense attorney.
James O'Connor, head of the public defender's office that covers the 18th Judicial District, will defend Holmes.
Holmes was booked into the Arapahoe County detention center Friday, according to the Sheriff.
The Sheriff's Department is not planning to realease a mugshot of Holmes at the request of the Aurora Police Department because the case is still under investigation.
Holmes was being held without bond Saturday on suspicion of first-degree murder. There will be an advisement hearing Monday. Prosecutors will have 72 hours to file charges after the hearing.
