Greensboro, NC -- The Triad community is sending a mass sympathy card to the Aurora, Colo., community in light of Friday morning's tragic movie theater shooting.
The WFMY News 2 family started getting signatures for the card on Friday at Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem. On Saturday, the card doubled in size at the Target off of New Garden Road in Greensboro. On Sunday, workers at the Starbucks on Huffman Mill Road invited us to spend time there collecting signatures and well-wishes.
Almost 500 short messages and good wishes adorn the front and back of five poster boards.
Here are some of the healing words written on the sympathy card from our Greensboro location:
In our thoughts and prayers.
Prayers are being said for all who have been effected by this event. May the good Lord bring peace to your hearts.
My name is Ashley. I think about you.
May the God of heaven and earth give you peace in this time of sorrow and pain. With all our love, thoughts, and prayers.
Love, thoughts, and prayers to all of you and your families from a family who knows and can understand.
No matter where you are or who you are, just a few kind words will make a big difference during this dark time.
My thoughts are with you all.
Stay strong and know God will work everything out.
Thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. God bless. Love, Nikki
