High Point, NC - Open Door Ministries and West End Ministries are holding their 3rd Annual Dining Out for Hunger event on Tuesday, and thirty-seven Triad area restaurants are giving back ten percent of their proceeds to the two organizations to help fight hunger in the Triad.
More than 25% of people in the Triad reported they have not had enough money to feed themselves or their family at some point in 2011, and the need continues to rise according to Open Door Ministries.
Open Door Ministries provides three meals a day, seven days a week, and both Open Door and West End Ministries hopes to raise $12,000 through Dining Out For Hunger.
It costs about $1 per meal, and meeting the goal would be 12,000 meals.
