Greensboro, NC -- A chihuahua is recovering at the Guilford County Animal Shelter after suffering third-degree burns to 40 percent of his body this week.
Guilford County Animal Control turned in Rocko Thursday, after someone found the dog with severe burns.
Investigators say he might have been burned five days before someone turned him in.
Rocko's owner's friend turned the dog in to Animal Control Thursday. He underwent treatment Friday.
The shelter expects to keep Rocko for two weeks, turn him over to a foster family, and have him ready for adoption in two months.
Police are still investigating this incident.
