Triad --  A cold front is moving toward the Carolinas.  This time of year, we are really lucky when a front makes it this far south and moves through the state.  A cool-down is always welcome.

We aren't that lucky this time...

The front will move into North Carolina... and stall out for a few days.  Instead of moving through and pulling in a fresh, cool air mass, it will keep the muggy air in place over us.  It will bring some changes though.

As the front hangs out, it will keep us unsettled most of the week.  That means there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day.  To have thunderstorms, you need clouds.  The combination of the clouds and rain will keep us a bit cooler than we have been.  Highs should range in the mid 80s for a few days.

The tropics are heating up a bit.  Tropical Storms Ernesto and Florence are both moving to the west with winds around 50 mph.  Ernesto could impact Honduras and the Yucatan Peninsula as a tropical storm or weak hurricane this week.  Florence remains out in the Atlantic- much closer to Africa than the U.S. at this time.
