Greensboro, NC-- The line at a license plate agency in Greensboro my not be so long anymore.

The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles announced plans to open a new License Plate Agency (LPA) in the city. Currently, the city's only LPA is on W. Market St.

It is scheduled to open on Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Where will it be? The LPA will be located at 2218 Golden Gate Dr. in Greensboro.

That address sounds familiar: That's because it's the same shopping center as the former agency on Golden Gate that closed in September 2011. It's not in the same space.

Hours of operation for the agency: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The agency's phone number is (336) 275-7715.

What transaction can you do there: vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations.
