Police Officer Drives Patrol Car Into High School Office

Thomasville, NC  --  Thomasville Police are investigating a collision that involves one of their own officers and a school in Davidson County.

Police were called early Tuesday morning to a car crash at Thomasville High School, located at 410 Unity Street. Arriving officers saw that a patrol car had hit the school building and traveled inside.

According to a news release, the officer was not injured and was referred for medical testing per city policy. News 2 was told, they don't believe speed was a factor but a unknown medical condition could be to blame for the accident.

Wednesday, the Principal at Thomasville High referred all calls to the Police Department. The Thomasville Police Department said the Chief was in Charlotte and refused to answer any other questions.

The S.B.I. is not working on this investigation.

No one was hurt. Student were able to return to school.
