Greensboro, NC-- Saturday, the Greensboro Fire Department hotsted its 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in downtown Greensboro.
The event started last year during the 10th remembrance of September 11. Greenboro Fire Department said their event is to honor the 343 firefighters who were killed at the World Trade Center in 2001.
The theme for this year's event is "Remembering the fallen as we walk for the wounded."

It was held a the Greene Street Parking Deck located at 220 N. Greene St. Participants also had the option of climbing the stairs at the Bellemeade Deck 10 times, which represents approximately 78 flights of stairs - the equivalent of the highest floor New York Fire Department firefighters reached on 9/11.
Donations were accepted at the stair climb to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project which helps support troops who have been wounded in combat since September 11, 2001.
