Triad -- We have had a whole week to enjoy the sun. Our luck is about to run out.
It's hard to believe, but after a dry week, we are almost 3" behind on rainfall. We could do a little catching up over the next few days.
A new low pressure system is moving our way. Even tonight, clouds will be on the increase. As you kick off your Sunday morning, skies will be mainly cloudy. There could be a few isolated showers the first half of the day. The better chance will be in the afternoon. There's a 50% chance of rain.
The best rain chances will arrive on Monday and Tuesday. There is a 70-80% chance of rain and even a few thunderstorms during this time. We could pick up more than an inch of rain. and there could be locally higher amounts.
By about mid week, we'll probably be missing the sun. That's ok because it plans to make a come-back by Wednesday. The second half of the week will be partly to mostly sunny. It will really feel like fall as we creep closer to the official beginning on Saturday. Highs will range in the low to mid 70s for a few days.
