Winston-Salem, NC -- The Philippines is home to 7,000 different islands, the world's largest producer of coconuts, and the latest cast of Survivor.

Two Triad residents were among the 18 cast members. Zane Knight, of Danville, and Dana Lambert from Winston-Salem. We caught up with Lambert, and while she couldn't let out any show secrets, she shared her excitement about her experience.

She said, "Well, I have been a huge fan of Survivor. I went to the CBS website to see when the next application was to send in and caught it in time and decided why not. And before you know it you're on a plane to some foreign country."

Even after being selected, she said it took a while for it to set in that she was actually part of the cast. Lambert said, "I think it set in for me... I think it was the plane trip. When you are sitting on a plane and have a bunch of strangers beside you that you are not allowed to talk to, and when we finally landed on the Ponderosa and blacked out vans and I'm like: this is it. That was when it finally hit me that this is for real."

When asked whether or not the experience changed her, Lambert said, "I'm still the same person I was before I left, but there is something that changes about you. You're gone for 2 months and there are a lot of intense things that happen to you that you can't help but change a little. It's still me, I'm the still the same person but maybe more enlightened to that side of the world that I never knew anything about before."

You can cheer on Dana Lambert this season on Survivor. It airs Wednesday nights at 8:00 pm, here on WFMY News 2.
