Georgetown, SC-- A Greensboro man is charged with sex crimes violations in another state.

According to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina, they arrested Rickey Joe Sansom, 22, of Greensboro during an Internet Predator case investigation.

Investigators within the Internet Crimes Division of the Sheriff's Office said they began investigating Sansom after discovering him utilizing a social networking website to communicate with what he believed to be a minor female child. Sansom was soliciting sex from the minor, officers said.

Officers said Sansom is charged with: Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, which is a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Sansom's bail was set at $30,000.00 at the Georgetown County Detention Center. 

At the time of his arrest, Sansom was employed as an after school counselor for children 5-12 years of age.
