Greensboro, NC -- Police shut down all three lanes of E. Wendover near Cridland Ave. due to an accident involving three cars and a tractor-trailer.

Guilford County Communications said they received a call about the accident around 9:45 a.m.

Officers are still on the scene, and the department's Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating this incident.

Police say they expect to open one of the three lanes around 12:30 p.m.

Several serious injuries have been reported and at least three people were taken to the hospital.

Police say there was another accident on the opposite side of the road as drivers were looking at this accident.

UPDATE: Police say Madhavi Khatiwada, 27, was driving her green Nissan Altima west on W. Wendover Ave. in the far right lane. Khatiwada tried to switch to the middle lane and collided with a semi-truck already in the middle lane.

The Nissan spun out of control and slid across the median and into the eastbound traffic lanes. Khatiwada's Altima hit 28-year-old Ahmed Fares Sharan's Dodge Charger. And finally, the Charger collided with a Ford Mustang, driven by Sherry Murr, 50.

None of the victims suffered any life-threatening injuries.

Greensboro police's Crash Reconstruction Unit is still investigating the wreck.
