Denton, NC -- Nearly one week after the untimely death of Coach Crowell, students and community members united for the school's homecoming game Friday night.

Students Jessie Dunn and Gideon Binge talked with WFMY News 2 about the mood at South Davidson High School this week and how students united through social media.

Present at the game were members of the Class of 1992. Three former students, including Carri Hampton, Ben Stevenson, and Dan Briggs, spoke about how they knew Coach Crowell and what he meant to the community.

Nancy Futrell is connected to the South Davidson High School community and Coach Crowell through her son, who was a student and employee, and her grandson. In the last 18 years, Futrell calculates that she has only missed 3 football games.
