Sheriff: Homeowner Stabbed After Walking In On Break-In

Asheboro, NC-- A homeowner is recovering from stab wounds inflicted by a man who broke into his home, according to deputies.

Randolph County Emergency workers said they received a 911 call on Friday around 7:10pm on an assault at a house on Wayne White Road.

When emergency workers and deputies arrived they found the victim in his front yard with stabbed multiple times by the suspect in the back and upper body.

Investigators said the homeowner returned from work and walked in on a man who had broken into his house. He was able to run outside and get a neighbor's attention. Deputies said the neighbor is the person who called 911.

The suspect was later identified as Kenneth Douglas Davis Jr. Davis was arrested on Sunday and charged with: Felony Breaking and Entering, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.

The victim was taken an area hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries from the assault.

He is currently being held at the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.
