Archdale, NC -- Parents who had children evacuated from Trindale Elementary School on Monday praised the Randolph County school system's response to the situation.
A truck carrying explosive material crashed on I-85 about a quarter-mile from the school. Firefighters recommended that students and staff be moved from Trindale, so they were bused to Archdale Elementary School.

Trindale parents were allowed to pick up their kids from the Archdale gym. If parents couldn't get to their children, the students were fed lunch at Archdale.
"The school handled everything very well," parent Kelly Hocutt said. The response was "phenomenal for the situation they were given. I know the safety of the kids is always first, and they did a fantastic job."
