Here in North Carolina, Gov. Bev Perdue has declared a State of Emergency for 38 eastern NC counties in light of Hurricane Sandy.

The hurricane has lost some of it's wind speed and has slowed down. As of 5PM it's about 420 miles south of Charleston, South Carolina, with sustained winds of 75 mph. The storm is moving north at about 7 mph.

The Tropical Storm Warning is extended northward along the Florida East Coast to St. Augustine. And the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for part of South Florida.
