Greensboro's 27th annual Shoppers' Day is on Thursday at Four Seasons Town Centre, giving hundreds of physically disabled people the chance to buy special gifts for loved ones.

The event is run by the Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities, and pairs hundreds of volunteers with shoppers with physical disabilities and let's them shop till they drop. 

Event organizer Steve Knier told News 2 that while shopping is one of the joys of the season, if you can't walk or have another physical disability, it can be nearly impossible to shop during the Christmas rush.

Shoppers' Day emphasizes the importance of empathy, acceptance, and compassion while allowing volunteers to gain valuable insight from persons with disabilities.

In addition to shopping, there will be live entertainment throughout the day.

Four Seasons Town Centre is open to the public today and everybody is encouraged to join in on the fun.
