Newtown police officer worked around the clock after the elementary school shooting. BUt, for Christmas, they could relax with family thanks to officers from nearby towns.
Officers from agencies across Connecticut patrolled Newtown to give those officers a day off on Christmas.
We spoke to a Greensboro police captain who said he wasn't surprised. He said first responders have a bond like no other.
"When an agency experiences something of that magnitude, other agencies want to reach and help in any way that they can," Greensboro police captain Joel Cranford said.
