Winston Salem, NC-- The city of Winston Salem will close some downtown streets on Friday to allow use of a crane.
The city is planning to close Main Street, between Second and Fourth streets starting at 7 p.m. A detour will be set up.
A crane will be in use to hoist material to the roof of the Winston Tower. The roads are scheduled to reopen once the work is complete late Sunday.
However, city officials said if complications arise the closure could extend into Monday, December 31.
If this is the case, police officers will assist traffic to allow visitors to the Hall of Justice, the federal building, and the parking lot at the corner of 3rd and Main streets.
