Greensboro, NC -- Crews are at the scene of a warehouse fire that started Friday afternoon in Greensboro.
Firefighters responded to the corner of English and Sullivan Streets after the first call came in at 3:48 p.m. The fire is at the Southeast Church Furniture building at 808 North Raleigh Street.
The warehouse refinishes church pews. There were people there working Friday morning, but no one was in the building when the fire started.
The plant manager told News 2 that they usually close early on Friday, which is why no one was inside the warehouse. They employ between 12-15 people.
The plant manager told News 2's Liz Crawford that the employees will continue to work at the other location on Goldsboro St., about a block away from the Raleigh St. location.
The Deputy Chief, Clarence Hunter said the fire was out and under control by about 6pm but they would continue to check for hotspots and babysit it the rest of the night.
They'll send an inspector inside Saturday morning to investigate the cause.
