Greensboro, NC -- There is nothing like a Saturday night of dancing, especially if you are dancing for a good cause.
That's exactly what was happening Saturday night at the Empire Room in downtown Greensboro.
Operation Smile, with a little help from WFMY News 2's Eric Chilton and some Triad-area celebrities, put on the 5th annual "Dancing with the Carolina Stars."
The dance-off raises money to help children in need of surgery that corrects facial deformities, like cleft lips and pallets.
"For a 45 minute operation to take care of these children, it takes them from a life of hopelessness to a life of hope," said Beth Marshall, Operation Smile.
Each surgery costs about $240.
Operation Smile raised more than $114,000 at Saturday night's sold-out event.
Matthew Rankin was the 2013 winner. He's the first man to win the competition.
