Mikel Brady, Charged with shooting Trooper Potts
Durham, NC - Authorities found bomb-making materials in the home of the suspect who shot a North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper last week.
A report from the search said investigators seized PVC pipe, nails and other items from Mikel Edward Brady's home on White Pine Dr., according to WRAL.
A warrant from an earlier search of his home indicated police found a digital camera with "clear instructions marked how to make bombs". A map hung in his bedroom marked police, fire and EMS stations.
Police reviewed the photos with the FBI and returned to search for bomb-making materials. Salt, a toolbox, a scale and items identified as a "small black metal tube," "metal parts with hole drilled in center" and "reactive targets" were also seized according to a report from WRAL.
Brady is currently in prison for shooting a trooper during a traffic stop Feb. 18. His girlfriend, Lindsey Smith, was also arrested and charged with Being An Accessory After The Fact.
