Lexington, NC -- Detectives in Davidson County have charged a man with sex offenses involving a 14-year-old girl and with soliciting girls via Facebook.
The investigation started in December 2012 when Officers with the Lexington Police Department stopped a man for a traffic violation. While talking to the driver, officers saw a teenage girl in the car with him. The girl admitted to police that she had been in a sexual relationship with the driver, identified as 21-year-old Christopher Minerd.
Minerd was placed under arrest and charged with Statutory Rape and Sex Offense involving a Minor.
After further investigation, Detectives said they learned Minerd was soliciting juvenile girls on facebook. They issued additional warrants on Minerd.
Wednesday, he was arrested and charged with two counts of Soliciting a Juvenile to Commit an Unlawful Sex Act. Minerd is in the Davidson County Jail under a $25,000.00 secured bond.
