Mocksville, NC-- A Monday night house fire in Davie County may be to blame for a woman's death.
Sheriff Andy Stokes said that around 9pm crews from the Mocksville and Center Fire Departments responded to a reported house fire with a person still in the house.
When Firefighters arrived on the scene and entered the home, they found Betty Brown, 72 dead inside.
Sheriff Stokes said an autopsy has been requested on Brown's body. The Davie County Fire Marshal and the Sheriff's Office do not suspect any criminal activity.
The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined by the Fire Marshalls Office. Investigators said the damage was so severe it prevents any further investigation into the cause and orgin of the fire.
