Mayodan, NC -- McMichael High School principal Leigh Jones returned to school on Friday morning. This come less than two months after she was in a serious car accident that killed the driver who hit her car.
Jones broke nearly every bone below her hips when 70-year-old Linda Chandler crossed the center line on US 220 North January 25. Chandler died after the head-on collision at Moses Cone Hospital.
Jones was in intensive care for several weeks.
To help her recovery, students sent prayers and well wishes through social media.
Austin Case is a Junior DMHS and after hearing about his principal's serious accident, he decided to start the hash tag #prayformsjones.
