Greensboro, NC -- Police arrested a Stokesdale man after he threw, what was believed to be a pipe bomb, into a dumpster Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to 532 N. Regional Rd. at 2:11 p.m. after someone called 911 and said someone threatened to burn down the building there.
Employees at Servant's Heart Ministry told police the man, Neil Allen Joyner, told them he placed an explosive device in the building's dumpster. Police say the device was a water bottle containing some sort of chemical.
GPD's Hazardous Devices Team found the water bottle, and police say the device exploded in the dumpster before officers arrived.
Police at the scene told WFMY News 2's Liz Crawford that Joyner, 30, was a former employee at Servant's Heart Ministry.
No one was injured in the incident.
Joyner is in police custody, and charges against him are pending.
Police and firefighters are still on the scene, but they do not believe there is any threat to the community.
