Winston-Salem, NC -- It's a dinner for our heroes.
One-hundred-and-twenty-five Purple Heart recipients from the Triad will be honored in Winston-Salem, Saturday night.
There will be veterans from World War Two, Vietnam, Korea, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan and other major conflicts.
One the of the youngest veterans to be honored is Winston-Salem Police Officer Recruit Seth Concklin. He served in Afghanistan and on April 1, 2010 his life changed. He was in a convoy on patrol when their vehicle ran over an IED.
He woke up in a hospital and couldn't remember what happened. The Marine had a concussion and several wounds from shrapnel on his body.
"Purple Heart, what it means to me pretty much that you shed you blood over-seas and you gave your all... You gave close to it," explained Concklin.
There will be about a dozen families of soldiers killed in action, a prisoner of war, and about 600 people at the dinner.
