Greensboro, NC-- A Greensboro store clerk is still recovering from a gunshot wounds after being shot during a robbery Wednesday evening.
Friday, police announced the arrest of two men for the crime. Officers credit your Crime Stoppers tips for the arrests. Detectives from the Greensboro Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team arrested Kenneth Lamont Murray, 45 and Kevin Andrea Barrett, 44, both men live in Greensboro.
They are facing charges of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Conspiracy. Murray is also charged with Felony Assault. Barrett faces additional charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and Possession of a Firearm by Felon. He was on parole for a conviction of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon at the time of the crime, police said.
According to Greensboro Police, Murray and Barrett went into the Wilco Store on W. Wendover, walked to the counter, demanded money from the register and shot the clerk who tried to run. Police said the clerk was shot twice, once in each leg.
Employees said the men took a drink and ran out the business. They were last seen running east on W. Wendover Avenue.
The victim was transported to the hospital with a non life-threatening injury, investigators said.
