Greensboro, NC -- Members of a historic neighborhood in the Triad are putting out a warning about door-to-door panhandling. Neighbors in the historic Aycock neighborhood say they're getting knocks on the door at odd times, including midnight and between 3:30 a.m. and 6. And they fear the panhandling is leading to crime.
?If they truly need money and help, they should get it. But they shouldn't get it by knocking door-to-door in a neighborhood,? says resident Jay Ovittore.
Neighbors in the Aycock district say panhandlers are working similar stories in neighborhoods like Glenwood, Cone Mills and Kingsbury Estates.
The Aycock neighborhood uses an e-mail mailing list so they can exchange information about suspicious activity.
