The Triad is now home to a "triad" of Honda divisions.
Leaders with Honda announced Tuesday morning... plans to build a new headquarters and plant for it's Honda Aero Division at the Burlington airport.
The company will hire 70 workers over five years to manufacture engines for light aircraft, including the new HondaJet.
The workers will make upwards of $62,000, that's about double the county average. The plant will have the capacity to produce 200 engines beginning in 2010. Honda Aero's headquarters will eventually move from it's current location in Reston, Virginia as part of the deal.
In February, Honda leaders announced Greensboro will be the world headquarters and production plant for the HondaJet aircraft.
Those operations will add about 300 jobs to the PTI facilities over several years.
Honda also has a power equipment manufacturing facility in Alamance County. The plant in Swepsonville, founded in 1984, produces small engines and lawnmowers and employs over 500 workers.
