
Asheboro, NC -- People in Randolph County have a new place to go to get pretty and survive the economy.
Randolph Community College students have a new place to provide services for less with the grand opening of a new cosmetology center. Cosmetology students will do hair, nails, waxing, and facials.
The school expects the demand for cosmetology will grow in coming years. Tammy Matthews, Head of the Cosmetology Dept. says, "In this particular industry, we continue to grow, jobs outlook survey says were gonna grow by 14% by 2016, we're all aging, we all wanna look a little better. Who should you go to? Your cosmetologist." Matthews also warns that because they emphsize quality, the students tend to work slowly.
Price for service range from five dollars to 30 dollars with a manicure being five dollars. The school's president Bob Shackleford received the honorary first haircut.
