"Steel Magnolias" is being remade for Lifetime Television and don't expect to see anyone from the 1989 version. This cast..is all new and all-black.
Lifetime's new version will revolve around a close group of women in Louisiana. It is being directed by Atlanta-based award-winning director Kenny Leon.
The original featured stars: Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Darryl Hannah and Olympia Dukakis.
The new movie will feature actresses Phylicia Rashad, Queen Latifah, Jill Scott, Alfred Woodard and Rashad's daughter Condola Rashad.
