Undated -- Not everyone appreciates Blake Shelton's sense of humor, especially not animal rights activists including Ellen DeGeneres. Shelton joked on Twitter that he swerved to the shoulder of the road to smash a turtle and then tried to give it CPR. But after the backlash became overwhelming, Shelton tweeted an apology, saying 'now that 'Turtle-Gate' is over' he wants to apologize for his 'ignorant joke.' DeGeneres tweeted Shelton, "Here's what's funny: knock-knock jokes. Here's what's not funny: animal cruelty." Shelton replied, "For god sakes... Now Ellen?!!"
