Greensboro, NC - Parents who cannot afford presents this Christmas got a helping hand from some local church groups. Eighteen Methodist ministries combined their efforts to fund and staff a Christmas store. For a suggested one dollar donation, needy families shopped for enough presents to take care of every member of their family. The free finds included jeans, t-shirts, coats and books. "It's very helpful to me, not only to myself but to a lot of people," said Linda Thompson. "I'm very grateful," she added. As a special treat, volunteers wrapped and bagged presents for free. The outreach ministry estimates they helped some 200 families and 500 children this year.
