Greensboro, NC -- They'd rather be called big brothers over baby-sitters, But some local boys are getting trained just the same.
Some Boy Scouts participated in child care training exercises.
The group learned how to safely supervise children and build a business plan to market themselves to parents. Along with a video presentation, the boys learned how to change diapers and feed babies.
Kim Phillips with the American Red Cross says it was a good reminder that babysitting isn't only for girls. "Normally we have mostly girls or a combination of the two so it really is great for the guys to come together and be able to see that there are a number of them out there and they want to ultimately be able to have the same goals."
The American Red Cross sponsors the program. Each participant earns a child care certificate at the end of the program.
