Guilford County, NC - The Guilford County Animal Shelter is stepping up once again to come to the rescue of 129 dogs seized during a raid at a puppy mill in Stokes County.
Marsha Williams who's the Director of the Guilford County Animal Shelter joined WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain Thursday on the Good Morning Show.
Williams talked about the poor conditions they found the animals in and told us many of them are still sick. "They were skinny, scared some of them have broken teeth, jaws," said Williams.
Williams said it'll be weeks before the rescued pups will be ready for adoption. But you can help out by adopting one of the other animals in the shelter. Williams says that'll help make room to house all the animals they're caring for and treating.
The Guilford County Animal Shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 12pm until 6pm. And Sunday from 1pm-5pm. It's located at 4525 West Wendover Ave. in Greensboro. You can reach them by calling 297-5020. Adoption fees are $95 for dogs and $80 for cats.
