Greensboro, NC - Cone Health will mark the halfway point of the largest construction project in its history with the "topping-out ceremony" for the North Tower on Friday.
The $200 million, six-story North Tower will be completed in 2013, and will include 96 private patient rooms, 16 operating rooms, a new and expanded emergency department, and will be LEED-certified.
It will be the forest healthcare facility in the state and one of only three hospitals in the country to heat and cool patient rooms with "chilled beams," a water/convection-based heating and air-conditioning system.
The ceremony will be held at 10:00 am on Friday at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
