It's summertime and for teenagers that can mean sleeping in, having fun, and seeing friends. If you're wondering how to get your teenager to get out of the house for a good cause, it could be as simple as asking. Ninety three percent of teenagers in America say they want to volunteer, but only 22% actually do. We spoke to the founder of DoSomething.Org, the nation's largest organization for teenagers and social change and she is teaming up with Bing.com to start a new campaign that asks teenagers to "do something."
They've created "The Hunt: 11 Days of Doing," which will text a secret volunteer mission directly to your teenager's phone - all you have to do is text 38383. The challenges will focus on important social issues such as recycling, animal welfare, education, homelessness, and bullying.
