Greensboro, NC - Most little girls want a pony, but for one five-year-old, her love for horses runs so much deeper.  Little Marie Dean not only rides horses, she rescues them.

Marie is putting her devotion is into action by creating, Lemon-AID, a fund-raiser for Safe Haven Equine Rescue & Retirement (SHERR), a facility devoted to the care and adoption of abused and neglected horses, located in High Point.

Lemon-AID, Marie's lemonade and bottled water concession is Saturday, August 4, from 11am-5pm at the Black Dog Car Wash, located at 5819 High Point Road in Greensboro. All proceeds will go to SHERR. Additionally, Marie's guardians, Angie & Keith Badorf, owners of Black Dog Car Wash, are donating 50% of the day's sales to SHERR. "Marie is so excited about doing this to help the horses," said Badorf. "She is such a compassionate little girl and we are thrilled she wants to show everyone how simple it is to make a huge difference for animals."
