The stage is set for the Republican National Convention (RNC) to begin on Monday in Tampa, but Tropical Storm Isaac could cause a nightmare scenario for the convention.

There are still many unknowns about the path of Isaac, but some models have the path going through Tampa during the RNC.

The storm is predicted to become a hurricane by Thursday, and begin a northward track, potentially through Tampa.

The RNC runs through next Thursday night when Gov. Mitt Romney will officially accept his parties' nomination for President of the United States.

Wayne King, Vice Chair of the North Carolina Republican Party, told News 2's Patrick Phillippi that there are contingency plans in place and they are watching the storm path closely.
