West, TX - The blast at West Fertilizer Company in West, Texas killed between five and fifteen people and injured more than 160, according to the Associated Press, and both numbers could rise.
The explosion forced the evacuation of half of the town of West, and 50-60 homes near the plant suffered damage.
The cause of the explosion is unknown at this point, and there is still a risk of further danger. Even though all gas has been turned off in the area, emergency officials worry another tank could explode.
The White House said it is monitoring the situation through FEMA.
