Greensboro, NC -- Chronic fatigue, usually identified with the Epstein Barr Virus, affects tens of thousands of people, three times more women than men.

It can also be a result of a number of things including adrenal exhaustion, anemia, heavy metal poisoning, environmental allergies and food sensitivities, and nutritional deficiency or assimilation problems. A very few cases are mental and nervous disorders. But this is also a physical disease.

Symptoms include extreme exhaustion, flu symptoms with swollen glands, recurrent colds, intestinal problems, anxiety, depression, irritability and mood swings, aching muscles or joints, headaches, memory and concentration loss.

The prolonged symptoms result in immune system burn-out and endocrine and adrenal exhaustion. The constellation of symptoms persisting for longer than six months and an elevated antibody count are the basis for labeling this dis-ease. Some women recover eventually, others do not, and while chronic fatigue is not life threatening, it is quality of life threatening.

The human immune system can only handle so much poisoning and malnutrition before it breaks down. This breakdown is exactly what we are seeing, and chronic fatigue syndrome has become a classic example. Since there is no way to escape the poisoning until we clean up the planet, holistic methods are the best that can be offered for healing these diseases.
