Following a storm of backlash after revealing her type 2 diabetes diagnosis, the Southern chef known for her down-home charm and high fat cooking told People magazine that she has gone down two pant sizes.
"I've dropped two pant sizes and I feel great!" Deen, 65, told People. According to the article, she now walks 30 minutes every day and is eating about half of what she used to.
While critics may want to know just how much weight Deen has dropped, the star doesn't actually own a scale.
"We don't own a scale in our house," says Deen. "Every six months I go for a physical and find out. Now it's time to see the doctor. She'll be so happy if I've lost weight."
Almost 26 million people have diabetes; 18.8 million people diagnosed and 7 million undiagnosed, according to the American Diabetes Association.
