Greensboro, NC-- Three kids in Greensboro decided they could do more than spend their allowance money on themselves.
They decided to spread their wealth and give to a charitable organization that helps others.
Tuesday morning, 13 year-old Jake Froelich, 11 year-old brother Harrison Froelich and their 7 year-old sister Lucy walked into United Way of Greensboro and handed them $167 in cash.
They want the money to go specifically to Operation Greensboro Cares. It was setup in November by United Way to help people having financial hardships in Greensboro.
The Froelich kids parents are Sam and Catherine Froelich who are screenwriters and movie producers. Sam Froelich produced the movie Cabin Fever and Hounddog both of which were filmed in North Carolina. Their production company is Down Home Entertainment.
Keith Barsuhn, President of United Way of Greater Greensboro accepted the donation.
Last Week Gold Medal Olympian Skater, Joey Cheek made a donation to Greensboro Cares.
The total raised so far for Operation Greensboro Cares since it was setup: $303,450.
