Raleigh, NC-- Eugene Stroman Jr. says he literally jumped for joy and ran around the house when he won $500,000 instantly. In addition to saving much of his winnings, the Greensboro man told the North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) he plans to enjoy an upcoming trip with his fiancée. A trip they already had planned.
Stroman purchased his winning ticket, worth $340,003.20 after taxes, at the P&B Convenience Mart on Freeman Mill Road in Greensboro.
Stroman is the second player to claim the top prize since the "$500,000 Jackpot" scratch-off game launched on June 16. There are 18 top prizes of $500,000 remaining in the game, as well as tens of thousands of other prizes.
