Burlington, NC -- Burlington Square Mall has had several empty stores since Alamance Crossing opened, but they're surviving the economy with a little help from a local church.

Trailhead Church held their first service in the back of the mall Sunday morning.

The area used to be a Gold's Gym, but the aspects of the building fit with the Trailhead theme.

Church member Victor Martinez says the location doesn't stop people from coming. "

Once we tell them about Trailhead, the biggest thing is just talking about God and Him being our Lord and Savior and once that message is out there, I dont think it matters where the church is located at, they just see that excitement and want to be a part of that."

Service is every Sunday morning at 10:30. For more information on Trailhead, click here or call (336) 792-2005.
