Greensboro, NC--This site is www.amberalertforpets.com and it pledges when you report a lost pet, within minutes, the site will alert hundreds of people to look for your furry friend.
Once you sign up, you enter as much information as you can about your pet. And you pledge to be a "watch dog" as well.
When a missing pet is reported, members receive an email and can then begin to look in your area.
It encourages users to print flyers and pass them around with your pet's picture and any medical history you provide during the registration.
You can see in North Carolina the pictures of pets that have already been lost and found, thanks to this site.
It also has a link where you can start a chapter in your own neighborhood and a place to put information if you have found a lost pet.
This site was created by a man who lost his black lab. He was frustrated at the long process it took to get him back, so he wanted to help pet owners across the country.
